Quote of the Day

Homer at the Bat13

“Take a knee, boys.  Tomorrow is the biggest day of your lives: the Shelbyville game.  So lights out at 7:30, and abstain from coffee, tea, and cola drinks.  Make no mistake, they pack a wallop.” – C.M. Burns
“Sure do, skip!” – Darryl Strawberry

I think the best joke about Darryl Strawberry in this episode is how well behaved and coachable he was, which is the exact opposite of how he was in real life! Not to mention his multitude of run-ins with the law

Yeah. I often wondered why he wasn’t the one put in jail on the show, but Steve Sax was.

Also, I liked the shadow effects in the shot. Very nice attention to detail, they don’t do this in the digital ink-and-paint episodes, blah-blah-blah…

what’s the history behind “taking a knee” anyway? do they do this in other sports? do they do this now in MLB?
