Quote of the Day

The Last Temptation of Homer11

“Agent Wesson, Department of Labor.  This man’s an illegal alien.” – Agent Wesson
“That’s preposterous!  Zutroy here is as American as apple pie.” – C.M. Burns

    “Tocnikrabda, mistah Boons.”

    ….And the always hilarious…
Female agent: This plant violates every labor law in the book. We found a missing Brazilian soccer team working in your reactor core!
Burns: That plane crashed on my property!

Most likely from a country that used to be part of the Soviet Union (read: any Eastern European or Central Asian country, like Armenia, Azerbaijan, Turkey, Serbia, Russia, or any of you “-istan” countries [Kazahkstan, Tajikistan, Kyrgyzstan, Usbekistan…dunno about Afghanistan]).

In fact, Zutroy kind of looks like Borat (or that car dealer from “Mr. Plow” who tried to sell Homer the car that runs on a single tank of kerosene and is from a country that no longer exists), so maybe he’s from Kazakhstan?

“Vroclav” is not a Kazakhi name. I’m telling you this just for the record. It might be Kosovar or Albanian, but not Kazakhi. It’s like I were to tell you “pfff Philadelphia and California, are, like, two states somewhere in the West, it’s like where Cortazar would be from”.

Turkey and Serbia were parts of the USSR? Tell me more.
The correct term would be “Eastern Bloc”, however I’m thinking he would rather be Albanian because there was a massive wave of Albanian emigration in the early 1990ies unrelated with the fall of USSR or Yugoslavia.

Okay, seriously, maybe I broke the joke down. But I just know too much about their differences to find it funny. Like, for me, a Turkish person would look nothing like an Albanian or a Croatian.
But I solemnly admit that I wouldn’t tell the difference between a Lebanese person and an Algerian one. Or between a South Korean person and a Cambodian one. Guess it might be the same for most of you.
