He is kind of a jerk in this episode, but he does get what’s coming to him (falling for the floor pie trap — twice and this part) and he does apologize to Bart when they’re stranded on that boat, so…I can kinda see why people would hate him in this episode, but just be glad that it’s not like the later ones.
Agreed. Homer in the classic series may be a jerk at times, but he often gets his comeuppance, usually right away for comedic effect, as seen here. Jerkass Zombie Homer suffers few, if any, consequences for far worse behavior, because he’s now a zany cartoon celebrity that everyone adores.
